IND vs AUS: Jasprit Bumrah Faces Major Injury Concerns, Leaves Field Mid-Play For Scans In Sydney

Bumrah Injury: Jasprit Bumrah encountered a significant injury scare on Day 2 of the ongoing IND vs AUS Sydney Test on January 4 (Saturday), as he was seen leaving the field for precautionary scans.

Bumrah Injury: Jasprit Bumrah faced a massive injury concern on Day 2 of the India vs Australia Sydney Test on January 4 (Saturday) as he was seen leaving the field in his training gear and heading to the hospital for precautionary scans. While, his absence from the Indian bowling attack for the rest of the day's play did not cost the visitors much as Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj and Nitish Reddy joined hands to bundle Australia out for 181 runs. 

Bumrah, who is the stand-in captain after Rohit Sharma stood down from the match, initially left the field at the lunch break on Saturday and returned after the interval to bowl a single over. However, he walked off the field mid-play once again and after a half-hour absence, he was taken for scans. In Bumrah's absence, Virat Kohli assumed the role of on-field captain for India.

Bumrah has been enjoying his purple patch as he has bagged 32 wickets in the ongoing five-match series, the most by any bowler in the contest. He also now holds the record for the most wickets taken by an Indian bowler in a single series in Australia (with a minimum of five Tests).

India bundled out Australia on 181, gaining a lead of four runs on Day 2 of the India vs Australia 5th Test. India’s slip catching was on point in Sydney as they grabbed all the chances that came their way on a bowling-friendly pitch. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna shone for the visitors as they both grabbed three wickets each.
