Background
Hello and welcome to ABP's live coverage of the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia. The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma smashed his first test century as the captain and gave India a great start. Ravindra Jadeja and Azar Patel added 81 runs for the eighth wicket. Rohit amassed 120 and recorded his ninth Test hundred. Team India restricted the visitors to just 177 runs after they put up a huge 321/7 at the stumps in its first innings.
The Indian team will be looking to continue their winning run when they will play against Australia in the first game of the four-match Test series for the Border Gavaskar Trophy at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur. Rohit Sharma's men have only lost one out of their last five Tests. This series is crucial for both teams as they want to assure their spot in the ICC World Test Championships (WTC) Final, taking place at the Oval in London from June 7 to 11 this year.
