ICC Unveils New York Stadium Which Will Host IND vs PAK T20 World Cup 2024 Fixture
New York's Nassau County International Cricket Stadium will host as many as eight T20 World Cup 2024 matches.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York set to host T20 World Cup 2024 matches. Among other marquee fixtures, the stadium is set to host the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 fixture which is scheduled to be played on June 9. Other than the blockbuster clash between the Asian rivals, India will also take on Ireland at this venue in their opening group-stage fixture against Ireland.
Geoff Allardice, the chief executive of the International Cricket Council (ICC), seemed excited about the 34,000 seater. He viewed it as an important milestone leading up to the world title to be won in international cricket this year.
"It is an incredibly important milestone in the lead up to the biggest ICC event ever, with work commencing on the stadium which will be able to accommodate 34,000 cricket fans," Allardice said as per an official statement released by ICC.

"We are partnering with world-class suppliers to deliver the modular stadium to ensure that players and fans can enjoy an unforgettable experience across the eight matches in New York in June this year," Allardice added.

Brand New Format In T20 World Cup 2024
Notably, a brand new format is being introduced in the T20 World Cup 2024 with as many as 20 teams set to take part in the competition, divided into four groups of five teams each. The top two teams from each group will proceed to the second round where eight teams will be divided into two groups. With top two teams from the two groups set to lock horns in the semifinals. The winner of the semis will then square off in the final.
