BCCI has refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan, while PCB remains steadfast in rejecting the proposed hybrid model. The ICC is exploring new strategies to mediate the dispute and ensure smooth conduct of the tournament.
As per reports, ICC previously cautioned Pakistan against making controversial statements about India and reiterated that no ICC tournament can proceed without Team India's participation.
Amid the ongoing standoff, ICC is likely to propose a hybrid model to PCB, potentially allowing India to play all its matches in UAE.
Citing security concerns, Team India has consistently declined to tour Pakistan, a stance it maintained during Asia Cup 2023. As a result, a hybrid model was implemented, with India's matches held outside Pakistan. Notably, India has not toured Pakistan in 16 years.
