Away from all the hustle of international cricket and fight for a comeback, Irfan Pathan has found his own away of enjoying cricket, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar.

The India left-arm seamer, who has been appointed as the player cum mentor of the J&K side for the upcoming season, has already started his search for the next sensation of the state, who, in future can even go on to represent India.

Irfan is conducting an open trial for the J&K cricketers and the response has been huge with around 350 budding cricketers turning up for the trial in Srinagar.

The India thought may be a distant dream but the young cricketers, who will catch Irfan’s eye is sure to find a place in the J&K side and play Ranji Trophy.

Indian cricketer and J&K captain Parvez Rasool was also present in the camp.

Pathan asserted that he will recommend some young names in the association. It a new experience for the children, Irfan added. “Children are very enthusiastic to play cricket. What they lack is experience & knowledge of fitness. If a system is followed & they're properly trained, J&K cricket will reach greater heights. We've planned things. Meetings have been held to improve the infrastructure,” said Pathan.
