Gautam Gambhir's First Reaction After Being Appointed India Head Coach: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) formally announced Gautam Gambhir's appointment as the new India head coach on Tuesday (July 9). While media reports had already confirmed that Gambhir was set to replace Rahul Dravid whose three-year stint as the India head coach concluded with the T20 World Cup on June 29, the official announcement from the Board hadn't come.

Soon after the official confirmation, Gambhir's first reaction on becoming Team India head coach broke the internet.

"India is my identity and serving my country has been the greatest privilege of my life. I’m honoured to be back, albeit wearing a different hat. But my goal is the same as it has always been, to make every Indian proud. The men in blue shoulder the dreams of 1.4 billion Indians and I will do everything in my power to make these dreams come true!" Entire Team Together Will Strive For Excellence: Gambhir

Meanwhile, Gambhir also acknowleged BCCI Secretary Jay Shah's post which confirmed his appointment, thanking him for his support while reassuring that the entire team will be looking to get better and aim for excellence.
