'Ex-Players Have Full Right To Share Their Opinion But...': Ravindra Jadeja's Sharp Response To Kapil Dev's 'Arrogance' Remark

IND vs WI: Ravindra Jadeja's response came ahead of the third and final ODI against West Indies. The series stands levelled at 1-1.

The Indian men's cricket team is one of the most followed cricket sides in the world. It is a team which has had a rich legacy and has several sporting superstars. In addition, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is among the richest cricket boards around the globe. All of this means anything that Indian team does tends to grab a lot of attention. The Indian side hasn't managed to win an ICC trophy in the last 10 years and with the ODI World Cup at home this year, there is an added expectation of the team ending their drought of a World trophy.

Meanwhile, there have been a lot of criticism of the Indian team as well. Among those who criticised the team in recent times was India's 1983 World Cup winning-skipper Kapil Dev. Notably, in an interview with The Week, Kapil had siad: "Sometimes, when too much money comes, arrogance comes. These cricketers, they feel they know everything."

However, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has responded to Dev's remark.

"I don't know when he has said this. I don't search these things on social media. See everyone has their own opinion. Ex-player have full right to share their opinion, but I don't think there is any arrogance in this team," Jadeja said while addressing the media ahead of the third ODI against West Indies.

While India had started the series as the runaway favourites to complete a clean sweep and even managed to win the first match, they succumbed to a shock defeat in the second ODI in a match in which they had decided to rest captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The series stands poisted at 1-1 and will be decided with the final fixture set to commence later on Tuesday (August 1) at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba in Trinidad.
