South Delhi Superstarz Get DPL 2024 Campaign Underway With Win
Purani Delhi-6, led by star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, were put in to bat first by Superstarz, who won the toss and opted to field first.
Purani Delhi-6 set a strong total, thanks to a solid foundation laid by Arpit Rana (59 off 41) and Rishabh Pant (35 off 32). The innings was further accelerated by Lalit Yadav (34 off 21) and Vansh Bedi (47 off 19), who delivered crucial cameos, helping the team post 197/3.
In response, South Delhi got off to a flying start with Priyansh Arya (57 off 30) and Sarthak Ray (41 off 26) putting together an 87-run partnership off just 41 balls for the first wicket. After Sarthak Ray's dismissal, captain Ayush Badoni took the crease, ensuring that the team maintained their momentum.
Ayush Badoni powered South Delhi Superstarz with a blistering 57 off 29 balls, featuring one four and six massive sixes, four of which came in a single over. His explosive innings gave the lower order some breathing room even as the chase became challenging. Despite a strong comeback from Purani Delhi-6's bowlers, who took six wickets for just 31 runs, it wasn't enough to stop the Superstarz from clinching victory.
