Dhawan Becomes 5th Indian Batsman To Score 1000 ODI Runs Against Australia

Left handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan achieved a personal landmark in the first ODI against Australia as he became the fifth Indian batsman to score 1000 runs against them in one day international cricket.

Apart from Dhawan - Sachin Tendulkar (3077), Rohit Sharma (2047), Virat Kohli (1727) and MS Dhoni (1660) are the other Indians who have achieved the milestone against the Australians in ODIs.

The 34-year old seasoned campaigner who has facing a strong competition from fellow opener KL Rahul for the opening position in white ball cricket is not fussed about the competition.
Dhawan went through a rough form with the willow in 2019 when an injury forced him out of the ICC World Cup 2019 midway. Even after coming back, Dhawan did not look at his fluent best before a knee injury forced him out of the home limited over series against the West Indies.
