Cricket World Cup 2023 Points Table: India were up against Pakistan at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 on Saturday (October 14). The match, which was staged at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world's largest cricket stadium, was one of the most looked forward to game in the tournament barring the semifinals and the final. However, it wasn't really a match that went down to the wire as the Men in Blue registered a thumping win over the Men in Green, finishing off the 192 chase with 117 balls remaining. The win has given a huge boost to India's net run rate (NRR) which has taken them to the top of the points table despite being tied with New Zealand with 6 points from 3 matches.

The points tables shows that other than India and New Zealand, South Africa and Pakistan are the teams that complete the top four. It is pertinent to note that sides that finish in the top four will proceed to the semifinals. Pakistan have won two matches before their loss in this game while South Africa have won two matches in a row and are yet to play their third game in the tournament. Defending champions England have won and lost one a match so far and at the fifth place followed by Bangladesh with both these teams at 2 points each. Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Australia, Afghanistan are yet to open their account.
