Rahul Dravid's son, Samit, showcased an impressive performance, scoring 98 runs for Karnataka in a Cooch Behar Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir. His innings included 13 fours and one six, contributing significantly to Karnataka's victory by an innings and 130 runs. Batting at No. 5, Samit partnered with Karthikeya KP, who scored 163 runs, to build a strong 233-run stand for the fourth wicket, enabling Karnataka to declare at 480 for 5 in 100 overs. Jammu & Kashmir's first innings totaled a modest 170 runs, failing to challenge Karnataka, resulting in a one-sided contest.

Rahul Dravid, along with his wife Vijeta, attended Samit's match against Uttarakhand at Mysuru's SDNRW Ground. This viral moment highlighted Dravid's support for his son's cricketing journey. Samit had earlier scored 27 and 28 in Karnataka's prior matches against Uttar Pradesh, displaying his reliability and consistency.

As Dravid prepares to resume coaching the Indian team for the upcoming Test series in South Africa, Samit's growing prowess on the cricket field signifies a promising future. The Indian team are set to face South Africa in two Test matches, starting with the Boxing Day Test at SuperSport Park in Centurion from December 26 to December 30. The second Test will be held at Newlands, Cape Town, from January 3-7.

The third ODI between India and South Africa, scheduled for December 21 (Thursday) at Boland Park in Paarl, will determine the winner of the three-match series as it stands level at 1-1. The Indian team will be hoping to capture the series to gain confidence ahead of the red ball series, starting from December 26.
