No Decision Yet: ICC Postpones Verdict On Champions Trophy 2025

The meeting has been adjourned to tomorrow, November 30, with PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi expected to attend in person.

The ICC board meeting to discuss 2025 Champions Trophy ended without a decision on the tournament's hosting. Reports indicate that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) remained adamant in opposing a hybrid model, while the other members were unable to reach a consensus. As per ESPNcricinfo, the meeting with board representatives lasted only 15 minutes.

The meeting has been adjourned to tomorrow, November 30, with PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi expected to attend in person, according to a report by ANI.

In tomorrow's meeting, ICC is expected to call for a vote among board members to finalize the venue for 2025 Champions Trophy. If Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) continues to insist on hosting all matches in Pakistan and rejects hybrid model, ICC may have no choice but to relocate the tournament to a different host nation.

India's last international cricket match on Pakistani soil took place during 2008 Asia Cup. However, due to escalating geopolitical tensions, India has since refrained from playing bilateral cricket in Pakistan. At present, India and Pakistan cricket teams only meet during ICC events or at neutral venues.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has raised strong objections to the proposed hybrid model for 2025 Champions Trophy, warning of its possible withdrawal from the event. The board has also threatened legal action against India for refusing to travel to Pakistan and has hinted at boycotting future ICC events if India does not participate in Champions Trophy.
