Rohit will be leading the Indian side at the Asia Cup, followed by the ODI World Cup on home soil. The Indian skipper has been a part of the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy winning side and under his leadership, Mumbai Indians have won six IPL titles so far.
During the 2019 World Cup, Rohit was the leading run-getter as he smashed 648 runs with an average of 81.00 from just nine matches. Recently, Rohit admitted that he looks to take part in the next T20 World Cup in West Indies and the USA.
"More than just going and enjoying, there is another reason to come here (in the USA). Because you know the World Cup is coming. In June, there will be the T20 World Cup (2024) happening in this part of the world. So, I'm pretty sure everyone is excited. So yaa, we look forward to that," Rohit said in a video.
Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue will start their Asia Cup 2023 campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan. The much-anticipated match is slated to take place on September 2nd in the picturesque setting of Kandy, Sri Lanka.
