'Bring The Rum And Come': West Indies Team’s Twitter Handle Responds To Free Rum Offer After Beating India In 2nd ODI

West Indies' win over India in the 2nd ODI was their first victory against the Men in Blue in ODIs since December 2019.

West Indies registered a memorable win over India in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown in Barbados on Saturday (July 29). While no one would have given them a chance to win against India at the start of this tour, given that West Indies were coming after failing to qualify for the ODI World Cup in India later this year where the Men in Blue will be one of the favourites to win, they did manage to do so albeit against an oppostion which was experimenting with its Playing XI and combinations.

However, that should take no credit away from the home team. After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, the hosts first bowled out a Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli-less India for 181 with Gudakesh Motie and Romario Shepherd scalping three wickets apiece before chasing down the target in 36.4 overs. Captain Shai Hope was the star with bat in the run-chase as he remained not out on 63 and was adjudged the Player of the Match as West Indies levelled the series 1-1.

Even though there is no doubt that the victory calls for celebration, West Indies Cricket team's official Twitter handle has now cheekily responded to a "Free Rum" offer. To their post in which they announced that they had levelled the series, a significant feat as it marked their first ODI win over India since December 2019, a user shared a message with a board which read: "Free rum when West Indies win." But the West Indies side was in jolly good mood and replied: "Bring the rum and come."

The exchange between the fan and the Cricket Team's official handle has gone viral on social media.

Meanwhile, the final ODI which will also decide the series will be played on August 1 at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba in Trinidad.
