BCCI Annual Revenue Revealed: Here's How Much The Board Earned

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the richest cricket board in the world, and its stature continues to rise with time.

Along with this, BCCI also pays crores in salaries to its players and coaches. This is widely known. But has the question ever crossed your mind — how much does the board actually earn in a year? Recently, the annual income of BCCI was disclosed in a report.

So let us now take a look at how much the world’s richest cricket board earned in the past year.

How Much Did BCCI Earn?

BCCI has several sources of income, and it earns massive amounts from them. Now, MyKhel has reported that how much the board earned in the financial year 2023–24.

As per the report, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) earned a record revenue of ₹9,741 crore during the financial year 2023–24.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) played a significant role in this, contributing around more than 50% of the total revenue, i.e., ₹5,741 crore. BCCI also earned approximately ₹361 crore from non-IPL media rights.

IPL Contributes the Most

The IPL is the richest cricket league in the world, and BCCI earns heavily from it. As per the report, IPL contributed more than 50% of the board’s earnings for the year 2023–24. It is important to note that 10 teams participate in the IPL, and each franchise is allotted a purse of ₹120 crore from which they build their squads.

IPL – Rs 5741 crore

ICC’s share – Rs 1042 crore

Reserves and Investments – Rs 987 crore

Non-IPL media rights – Rs 361 crore

Ticket sales & commercial rights – Rs 361 crore

BCCI Pays Hefty Salaries

The BCCI is also known for giving hefty salaries to its players and coaches. For your information, the Grade A+ category of BCCI includes four players, each of whom receives an annual salary of ₹7 crore. Besides that, players in Grade A, B, and C receive ₹5 crore, ₹3 crore, and ₹1 crore, respectively. Additionally, players also earn rewards based on match fees and individual performances.
