The squad looks completely changed from the 2017 edition, as 12 players have either failed to make a cut in the squad, or have retired from the international circuit.

Pakistan's Squad For ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Batters:

Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Tayyab Tahir.

All-rounders:

Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, Salman Ali Agha (vice-captain).

Wicketkeepers:

Mohammad Rizwan (captain), Usman Khan.

Spinner:

Abrar Ahmed.

Fast bowlers:

Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi.

However, there are 3 players who managed to survive in the national set-up for the past 8 years, and are set to don the green jersey at home in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

3 Players With Appearances In 2017 & 2025 CT Editions For Pakistan

1. Babar Azam:

The former Pakistan captain had a decent outing in the 2017 edition, under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed. The right-handed batsman, since then, has gone on to become one of the all-time greats of Pakistan cricket, but is yet to deliver an ICC trophy by being the main man from the front.

A collective effort delivered a memorable ICC Champions Trophy in 2017, and Babar Azam walks into the upcoming edition under severe pressure amid poor form, and will have a big point to prove on home conditions.

2. Fakhar Zaman:

The hero of Pakistan in the 2017 Final. It was Fakhar Zaman's iconic century, that propelled Pakistan beyond the score of 300, as Indian bowlers were clueless in front of the highly-dangerous left-handed batsman.

After a series of controversies with the Pakistan Cricket Board, the veteran has finally managed to make a cut in the 15-man squad, and will once again, be a huge psychological threat to opposition bowlers.

3. Faheem Ashraf:

The curious case of Faheem Ashraf amazes cricket fans, as the all-rounder has not featured regularly for the side over the years, but still manages to make it in-time for the ICC events.

In a new-looking squad, the expertise of an experienced campaigner in the form of Faheem Ashraf will be much-needed for Pakistan.
