AUS Vs IND, 3rd Test: Australia are in great position at the end of Day 2, as India are heavily struggling at Gabba. Read below for details.

AUS Vs IND, 3rd Test: Australia end Day 2 on a high, as Sunday belonged entirely to three people during the 3rd Test match at The Gabba in Brisbane - Steve Smith, Travis Head, and Jasprit Bumrah.

The former two scored sensational tons, and the home side's juggernaut was brought to a halt by the ever-consistent Jasprit Bumrah, who registered his 12th 5-wicket haul in Tests.

At Stumps Day 2, Australia are 405/7, with Mitchell Starc and Alex Carey at the crease, and the duo will carry the overnight score on Day 3, as they will be looking to put the game to bed with a huge first innings score.

Steve Smith, Travis Head Reflect On Historic Day 2 Vs India

Both centurions were extremely delighted with their performance and spoke during the on-field interview after the conclusion of Day 2's play.

"Nice to keep the ball rolling. I was playing well but nice to come out and build again and contribute to the team. I feel it's a nice wicket. It was challenging because they were bowling well. But we batted out well and happy to get that partnership. I try to stay as positive as I can against Bumrah. He's going to go down as one of the greatest to play the game. Just play positively and hit the spots," said Travis Head.

"Around the 30th over mark, I came in. The top order did a pretty good job to get till there. It was hot and I feel hotter. I don't like running much. But it was good to get that partnership," he added.

Steve Smith credited his partner Travis Head and stated his importnce during the partnership, and Smith's own 100-run knock.

"It was nice. The top three did a pretty good job. They played 50 balls each. The new ball was doing a fair bit. It was nice to get in and get some luck early and get that partnership with Heady. He makes things look easy. The scoreboard is moving so quickly. I was toe-to-toe with him after the break but it was wonderful to watch him go. I had the best seat in the house. We have had few partnerships before and hopefully, more to go," said Steve Smith.

"I felt good. Missed out for a little while now. Nice to get to triple figures. I said to a few guys. Batting has been difficult especially against the new ball. A lot of credit must go to them as well," he added.
