"It has been a quiet winter. It's a bit of pre-season work. It's pretty cold in Australia, so spending some time indoors and working on my game has been nice. We thought they bowled really well up front and put us under pressure. Hazlewood did a fantastic job staying in at the end. The two big quicks came in today, brought experience to the group, and took the early wickets we were after. Hardie contributed well with the bat and picked up a couple of wickets. It's great to have an opportunity in this side-it's a lot of fun," said Alex Carey.

Stand-In Skipper Mitchell Marsh Returns To Form With Fantastic Half-Century In 2nd ODI Vs England

In the absence of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Marsh has done a tremendous job as the skipper of the side in the ODI series, and has now returned to form by leading Australia from the front on Saturday.

"These days, 270 is usually a bit below par, but we knew that with early wickets, we'd be in the game. It shows how important partnerships with the tailenders can be. The ball was moving, and we put them under pressure while defending the total. Hardie was excellent, and it's a fantastic win," said Mitchell Marsh, Australia Captain.

"I think the main thing for us is to focus on what we're trying to achieve. Playing against England in England is always challenging. We've dealt with a few injuries, but everyone stayed calm, and we welcomed back some key experience today. Overall, really pleased with the team's performance," he added.
