Ankur Warikoo Comments 'Bet His Mom Thinks Patla Ho Gaya Hai' On Prithvi Shaw's Picture, Apologizes Later
Ankur Warikoo apologized and issued a clarification after his comment on Prithvi Shaw.
Cricket is no less than a religion in India. Not only is it the most followed sport in the country but millions of Indians aspire to excel in the sport and make a name for themselves. No wonder those who get to represent India at the elite level are amongst the best talent and have reached there after proving themselves at several levels. Talent and sometimes performances too are not enough to survive at the international level something which Prithvi Shaw would agree to.
Despite a good run in the domestic cricket, he has been overlooked for a place back in the national team after being dropped from the India squad. His poor run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) did not help his cause either. Time and again, reports citing fitness issues as one of the reasons for his omission from the team also keeps emerging. And now it is Indian entrepreneur and investor Ankur Warikoo who tried to take a dig at Shaw's fitness after sharing a recent picture of the cricketer. He wrote: "Bet his mom thinks “patla ho gaya hai” :))".

However, fans were quick to highlight the insensitive nature of Warikoo's comment. Some pointed it out to him that Shaw had lost his mother when he was just four while others highlighted how he slammed his second double hundred in List A cricket in his most recent outing for Northamptonshire against Somerset, an innings which helped him shatter several records. Warikoo then apologised and issued a clarification.
Here is how fans reacted to his comment on social media and his apology.

Sir, with all due respect, his mum passed away when he was 4. Secondly, he’s achieved an outstanding century on foreign soil which means he’s still doing something for the country irrespective of his body.
