Champions Trophy: Heavy rain washes out India's practice ahead of Sri Lanka match

Champions Trophy: Heavy rain washes out India's practice ahead of Sri Lanka matchPhoto: ICC New Delhi: Rain has cast a black spell on the ongoing Champions Trophy in England. After washing out two matches and intervening in couple of others, it has now robbed the Indian side a practice session ahead of their next group match against Sri Lanka in London. After a resounding victory against Pakistan, the Indian Team was supposed to practice at the London School of Economics ground on Tuesday as both Lord's and Oval was unavailable for practice but rain forced them to stay back at the hotel. Sri Lanka also missed their practice session due to heavy rains. Rain had induced three stoppages in India’s last match against Pakistan and reduced it to a 41 over encounter but if the weather for the past two days in London is any indicator then there is worse to follow. It has rained continuously in London since Monday morning. The Australia-Bangladesh match on Monday was also washed out forcing Steve Smith’s side to play a do or die match against England later on. However, as of now there are no threats to the India-Sri Lanka match on Thursday. The weather has shown signs of passing showers but that should not act as an obstacle for a full match.
