Best knock of my life, says Karun Nair; Twitter lauds the triple centurion

New Delhi:  Twitter was filled with praise for young and promising batsman Karun Nair who became only the second Indian to slam a triple hundred in Test cricket. He scored an unbeaten on 303 against England as India declared at 759 for 7 taking a lead of 282 in their first innings in the fifth and final Test in Chennai. The 25-year-old Karnataka batsman blasted 32 fours and four sixes in his 381-ball unbeaten innings. His strike rate was 79.52. Taking about his stupendous performance, he said, "This is best knock in my life, had to play differently. I wasn't in any pressure after my hundred." The shot that he played often was the "sweep" about which he said that it comes naturally to him. He thanked KL Rahul, R Ashwin and R Jadeja for helping him build his innings throughout. The 25-year-old's family was watching him bat at the Chepauk stadium and cheered for every run he scored. His mother came to watch his game for the first time though. "My dad watches all my games and I thank my parents, family for being there." Earlier this year, Nair escaped the jaws of death when he had a narrow escape as the snake boat he was travelling in capsized in river Pampa in Kerala. " I couldn't swim in that water, people rescued me from the boat." The batsman exuded confidence on his Karnataka teammate KL Rahul who missed out on his maiden 200 by getting out on 199. "I would say he was unlucky and can surpass 200," Nair added. Meanwhile, let's look at reactions from the world of Twitter congratulating the young lad.
