Spanish football powerhouse FC Barcelona on Tuesday confirmed their first signing of the next season in the form of 19-year-old French defender Jean-Clair Todibo. Todibo will join the club on a free transfer on July 1 after seeing out the rest of his contract with his current club, Toulouse. The Barcelona coaching staff will then decide whether he forms part of their first team squad or plays in their B-team or is sent on loan to gain further experience, reports Xinhua news agency. The highly rated French teenager who has attracted a lot of interest from top soccer clubs is equally adept at playing either in central defence or in a holding role in midfield. The talented defender has made 10 starts in the Toulouse first team in the French Ligue A, with Juventus thought to be among his suitors.
