Aus vs Eng, T20 World Cup: Jos Buttler's 32-Ball 71 Powers England To 8-Wicket Win Over Australia

Jos Butler scored an unbeaten 71 off 32 balls with the help of five fours and five sixes to power England to an emphatic eight-wicket win over arch-rivals Australia.

New Delhi: After Chris Jordan bowled a magical spell to take three wickets, Jos Buttler played a fiery 32-Ball 71-run innings to power England to an emphatic eight-wicket win over arch-rivals Australia in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup match on Saturday. With this win, England have almost confirmed a spot in the semi-finals.

Batting first, Australia had given England a target of 126 runs, which England easily achieved after losing 2 wickets in 11.4 overs. England's bowlers bowled remarkably well in this match. Chris Jordan was the pick of English bowlers as he bagged 3 wickets for the team. Chris Woakes took 2 wickets. Apart from them, Adil Rashid, Liam Livingstone and Tymal Mills took one wicket apiece.

Chasing the target of 126 runs, England enjoyed a tremendous start. Openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler started hitting fours and sixes right from the beginning of their innings. Jason Roy fell victim to Adam Zampa on a personal score of 22 runs.

After this, David Milan, who came to bat, could only score 8 runs. Ashton Agar sent Malan to the pavilion. Then Jonny Bairstow, who came to the crease, scored an unbeaten 16. Jos Buttler remained on one end and continued to hit fiery strokes. Butler scored an unbeaten 71 off 32 balls with the help of five fours and five sixes.

A total of 15 matches have been played so far in the T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Stadium, out of which the team bowling first has won 14 matches. It is worth noting that India's team also got defeated on this ground.
