Lionel Messi's Argentina defeated France 4-2 in a penalty shootout after the summit clash was leveled at 3-3.

Speaking of his team's performance after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, Martinez said that it was his team's destiny to win the most-coveted title Qatar.

Martinez, 30, saved from Kingsley Coman in the shootout to help Argentina to a 4-2 win after the thrilling final ended 3-3 in extra-time.

"It was a very complicated match, they came back to equalise in the game but it was our destiny to suffer," said the Aston Villa keeper.
