Virat Kohli vs Ajinkya Rahane, Who's The Better Captain? Here's What Sachin Tendulkar Opined!

Ajinkya Rahane vs Virat Kohli, Who's The Better Captain?: In Australia, India lost the three-match ODI series by 1-2, and then on the T20 International series 2–1. The India vs Australia Test series is currently levelled at 1–1. The third Test match of the series is to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground(SCG) from 7 January, for which Rohit Sharma has also joined the national squad.

The Coronavirus pandemic-hit year 2020 was one of the most uncertain years for cricket and for India cricket team skipper Virat Kohli, under whose leadership Men in Blue did well in the shortest format of the game (T20 cricket) but struggled in One-Day-Internationals and Test cricket. In 2020, Virat didn't score a single international century in all three formats. Under his captaincy, India lost the Test series in New Zealand, suffered an embarrassing eight-wicket defeat in the first match of the four-Test series played in Adelaide in Australia.

After this, Virat returned to India for the birth of his first child and under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane, India made a tremendous comeback at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and won the Ind vs Aus 2nd Test by eight wickets to level the series 1-1. When it comes to leadership skills in the shortest format of the game (T20), Virat Kohli is often compared to Rohit Sharma and in Test cricket to Rahane. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has now opined on the comparison of Rahane and Virat's captaincy in Test cricket.

India's regular skipper Virat Kohli has been captaining Bangalore-based franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for many years now but still they haven't won a single IPL title, while Mumbai Indians, under team India's star opener Rohit Sharma's captaincy, have won IPL finals a record-breaking five times! It has been discussed repeatedly that in limited overs cricket, Rohit should be made the captain instead of Virat. Since Team India's win in Melbourne, the new debate has started as to whether Rahane should be handed over the captaincy of the Test team.

“People shouldn’t get into comparisons with Virat. Ajinkya has different personality. His intent was aggressive. I would like to remind everyone that they are both Indians and they both play for India, so no individuals comes above India. Team and country is above everything else,” he told PTI.
