Chandrayaan-3 Soft Landing: ISRO Urges Schools To Show Live Stream To Students — Here’s How To Watch It

The live coverage will be available on ISRO website, YouTube, ISRO’s Facebook page, and Doordarshan National TV Channel, said ISRO in a message.

The Indian Space Research Organisation on Sunday urged the schools across India to live stream the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3. ISRO will start the live broadcast of the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 from Wednesday, August 23 on multiple platforms. The live coverage will be available on ISRO website, YouTube, ISRO’s Facebook page, and Doordarshan National TV Channel, said the space organisation in its Sunday message. Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to land on the Moon on August 23, but might experience a delay in landing by "three to four days".

“India's pursuit of space exploration reaches a remarkable milestone with the impending Chandrayaan-3 Mission, poised to achieve a soft landing on the lunar surface. This achievement marks a significant step forward for Indian Science, Engineering, Technology, and Industry, symbolising our nation's progress in space exploration,” the message read.

“The soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 is a monumental moment that not only fuels curiosity but also sparks a passion for exploration within the minds of our youth. It generates a profound sense of pride and unity as we collectively celebrate the prowess of Indian science and technology. It will contribute to fostering an environment of scientific inquiry and innovation,” said the space research organisation.

“In light of this, all schools and educational institutions across the nation are invited to play an active role in this historic event. The institutions are invited to actively publicise this event among your students and faculty and organise the live streaming of the Chandrayaan-3 soft landing within the premises,” it added.

A senior scientist at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) told ABP Live that the Chandrayaan-3's landing might be delayed by “three to four days” if conditions are unfavourable.

If the landing is delayed, the scientist added, Chandrayaan-3 may operate on the Moon for about 10 days, instead of 14 Earth days. This means that if Chandrayaan-3's landing is delayed, the spacecraft may touch down on the lunar south pole on August 26 or 27.
