  • Place the idol or statue of Lord Vishnu on a raised platform.
  • Lord Vishnu loves the colour yellow. Try to wear yellow clothes on this day.
  • Offer yellow flowers, yellow food, and prasad to Lord Vishnu.
  • Light a ghee lamp in front of Lord Vishnu.
  • On this day, light a lamp not only for Lord Vishnu but also for the Tulsi plant.
  • Do not pluck Tulsi leaves on this day.
  • Avoid meat and alcohol on this day.
  • Do not cook or eat rice on Ekadashi, as consuming rice on this day is considered inauspicious.
  • On this day, make sure to donate to those in need.
  • The Ekadashi fast should be broken on the Dwadashi day.
  • It is very important to break the Ekadashi fast before the Dwadashi tithi ends.
