Shardiya Navratri 2024 Day 9: On the ninth day of Navratri, the presiding goddess is Goddess Siddhidhatri. Worshipping her is believed to grant all kinds of spiritual powers or siddhis. According to the Markandeya Purana, there are eight main siddhis, while the Brahmavaivarta Purana mentions eighteen. These include Anima (the power to become small), Mahima (the power to become large), Garima (the power to become heavy), Laghima (the power to become light), Prakamya (the ability to fulfill desires), Ishatva (lordship), and Vashitva (the power to control).

When Will Maha Navami Begin?

According to the Panchang (Hindu calendar), Ashtami Tithi (eighth day) will end on October 11, 2024, Friday, at 12:07 PM. Following this, Navami Tithi (ninth day) will begin and will continue until the next day, October 12, ending at 10:59 AM. After Navami, Dashami Tithi will commence. Colour For The Ninth Day Of Navratri:

On the auspicious day of Navami, devotees are encouraged to wear purple while offering prayers to Goddess Siddhidhatri. It is also recommended to present garlands made of lotus or rose flowers to the goddess.

"Siddhigandharvayakshadyairasurairamarairapi, Sevyamana Yada Bhuyat Siddhida Siddhidayini."
