The Legend Of Basant Panchami
According to Hindu mythology, when Lord Brahma created the world, he felt that something was missing. To fill this void, he sprinkled water from his kamandalu (sacred pot), and a divine goddess appeared. She held a veena in one hand and a book in another, with a rosary in her third hand and a blessing gesture in her fourth hand. This divine entity was Goddess Saraswati. When she played her veena, the world was filled with melodious sounds, and thus, she was named Goddess Saraswati. This day was Basant Panchami, and since then, she has been worshipped in both heaven and earth.
