Ingredients

  • 500 Gram Fish
  • 2 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 2 Piece Curry Leaves Sprigs
  • 1 Piece Sliced Medium Onion
  • 4 Piece Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Inch Grated Ginger
  • 2 Piece Chopped Medium Tomatoes
  • 1 Tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1 Cup Tamarind Water
  • 1 Cup Coconut Milk
  • 2 Piece Slit Green Chillies
  • Salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare The Fish: Clean and cut the fish into medium pieces. Rinse well and set it aside.

Step 2

Heat Oil And Add Spices: Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add curry leaves and fenugreek seeds, saute everything together for some time.

Step 3

Saute: Add sliced onions, garlic, and ginger together into the pan. Saute until onions turn translucent.

Step 4

Add Tomato And Spices: Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy. Then, mix in turmeric, chilli, and coriander powders, and stir them until the spices blend well.

Step 5

Add Tamarind Water: Pour in tamarind water and bring to a boil. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes to infuse its flavours.

Step 6

Add Fish: Gently place the fish pieces into the curry. Cover and cook on medium heat for 10-12 minutes until the fish is fully cooked.

Step 7

Pour Coconut Milk: Pour in coconut milk once the fish is cooked. Stir gently and add salt according to your taste.

Step 8

Garnish And Serve: Garnish with fresh curry leaves and green chillies. Serve hot with steamed rice, appams, or parathas.
