South Indian Know How To Make Crispy Dal Vada At Home

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Chana Dal
  • 1 Piece Onion
  • 3 Piece Green Chillies
  • 1 Inch Ginger
  • 10 Piece Curry Leaves
  • 1 Teaspoon Fennel Seeds
  • Coriander
  • Oil
  • Salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Wash the chana dal properly in running water and then soak it for about 4 hours.

Step 2

Then, grind the dal coarsely. Make sure that you do not overgrind and prepare a coarse texture.

Step 3

Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Then, add chopped onions, chillies, ginger, curry leaves, coriander, fennel seeds, and salt. Mix everything well.

Step 4

Take a deep pan and heat oil in it.

Step 5

Take small portions of the vadas and shape them.

Step 6

Deep fry the vadas in batches and wait for them to turn golden brown and crispy.

Step 7

Remove and place on paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Step 8

Serve the Dal Vadas with coconut chutney and enjoy.
