South Indian Know How To Make Crispy Dal Vada At Home

Learn to make crispy and delicious Dal Vada at home with this easy recipe. These golden lentil fritters are crunchy outside, soft inside, and packed with flavour, making them perfect for tea time.




Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Chana Dal
  • 1 Piece Onion
  • 3 Piece Green Chillies
  • 1 Inch Ginger
  • 10 Piece Curry Leaves
  • 1 Teaspoon Fennel Seeds
  • Coriander
  • Oil
  • Salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Wash the chana dal properly in running water and then soak it for about 4 hours.

Step 2

Then, grind the dal coarsely. Make sure that you do not overgrind and prepare a coarse texture.

Step 3

Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Then, add chopped onions, chillies, ginger, curry leaves, coriander, fennel seeds, and salt. Mix everything well.

Step 4

Take a deep pan and heat oil in it.

Step 5

Take small portions of the vadas and shape them.

Step 6

Deep fry the vadas in batches and wait for them to turn golden brown and crispy.

Step 7

Remove and place on paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Step 8

Serve the Dal Vadas with coconut chutney and enjoy.
