In the process, Kohli also became fastest to 17,000 international runs

With his 35th ton Virat also entered the club of top five batsmen with most 100s in international cricket. Virat is now at 5th spot with 56 tons

Master blaster Sachin Tendulakar tops the list with 100 international hundreds followed by Australia’s greatest captain Ricky Ponting (71), Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara (63) and one of the greatest all-rounders of all time Jacques Kallis (62).

Virat with three hundreds in the series equalled the record of most ODI 100s against the home side in South Africa. He equalled the record of Kevin Pietersen (3) all in Feb 2005

Kohli smashed his 35th ton in his 200th inning. Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, who is on top of the list with 49 centuries, took 309 innings to reach 35 centuries

Slamming 82-ball ton which included 17 boundaries, Virat broke plethora of records in the series
