Is McCullum RCB's undisclosed vice-captain?

In this season, RCB have prepared nicely by roping in a leader like McCullum.

Last year, RCB had to search for leaders when both Kohli and de Villiers were injured in the middle of the tournament. Shane Watson had to lead the side for a couple of matches.

McCullum is one of the most capped foreign cricketers in IPL and there is absolutely no doubt about his captaincy skills. He took New Zealand to the finals of the 2015 ODI World Cup by leading from the front.

"Virat and I, our relationship is very good as well. He's open to some of the things I come up with. The first thing we did is I spoke to him when I arrived. I said I'll throw a whole lot of ideas at you. You don't feel like you've to use any of them.

"But I hope he feels confident that he knows that myself and AB and Quinton as well, who is a very astute thinker of the game, we'll give him ideas and his prerogative is to be able to use the ones he wants to and make the decisions. It's a tough job, to make the final decision. But I think it'll work well," McCullum opined.

But if reports are to be believed, RCB have a deputy for Virat Kohli. They will only announce, if it is necessary.

One cannot find any faults in that judgment. Their captain Virat Kohli seldom gets inured and is one of the fittest cricketers going around. So there might be no need to name a vice-captain and if by any chance the need arises, they have the likes of AB de Villiers, Brendon McCullum and Quinton de Kock to do the honours.

There is no shortage of leaders in the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. So much so that did not even feel the need to name a vice captain for the current season of IPL.
