As monsoon marked its onset over Eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh, Gorakhpur the home-district of CM Yogi witnessed record high rainfall.

In fact, Gorakhpur being a station in East Uttar Pradesh which lies along the foothills, is prone to heavy rainfall activity.

Normal life is thrown out of gear as vehicles get stuck on the water-inundated roads.

As per Skymet’s report, in the last 24 hours Gorakhpur has recorded 232.6 mm of rainfall.

Substantial amount of water has been collected on the roads, partially submerging the city. A Water logged police station can be seen in the city.
