The Olympic Games are going to be held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, from July 23. The Indian contingent reached Tokyo on Saturday to participate in the Olympic Games. There are total 90 players in this team.

This is India's largest contingent to be sent for Olympics in the history of games. Earlier, 118 Indian players had participated in the Rio Olympics. There are many events in the Olympic Games in which Indian players are reaching Tokyo for the first time.

India expects gold medal in Olympic Games from players like Mary Kom, Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Deepika Kumar, PV Sindhu.

The total number of Indian contingent for Tokyo Olympics will be 228. There are 67 male players and 52 female players. Indian players will challenge other nations in 85 medal events.

Players participating in the Olympic Games will also have to follow very strict rules. Players will have to wear masks as soon as the event is over. In Tokyo, an order has been issued to the players to wear the Olympic medal on their own.

Boxing is a field where India's performance in the Olympic Games has only improved over the years. India is hoping for a gold medal this time in boxing.

Sajan Prakash will achieve the distinction of becoming the first player from India to participate in swimming. Sajan Kumar has qualified for 200m butterfly event.

This time the players have had to prepare for the Olympic Games under different circumstances due to the COVID pandemic. Nevertheless, the spirits of Indian players are high and they are ready to bring medals for the country.
