Man Enters Tiger’s Cage In Ahmedabad Zoo To Impress Girlfriend, Gets Arrested
A man tried to impress his girlfriend by climbing into tigers' enclosures at Kankaria Zoo in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The large enclosures in zoos are designed to ensure the safety of both humans and animals. However, often people disregard this need for safety and think it is better to try and get inside the spaces created especially for the animals. A man in Gujarat thought that it would impress his girlfriend if he climbed inside a tigers’ enclosures at Kankaria Zoo in Ahmedabad, on Sunday.

Arun Kumar Paswan, a 26-year-old originally from Uttar Pradesh, lives in Rakhiyal. He repeatedly approached the tiger’s enclosure before climbing a tree to gain access. He narrowly avoided slipping but managed to enter the cage.
There was a lot of commotion, as he was told multiple times by other visitors to come out of the cage. Finally, when the zoo staff came to the cage, they forced him to climb out
According to The Times Of India (TOI), an FIR has been registered with the Maninagar police against the man who climbed into the tiger’s enclosure. According to the complaint filed by Sandipkumar Pandya, a Gujarat Industrial Security Force (GISFS) security guard stationed at the zoo, the breach occurred around 3:25 pm.

An official told TOI that Kumar has been booked under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act “pertaining to disturbing animals in zoos and under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for reckless acts endangering safety."
Early last year, a 38-year-old man was mauled to death by an eight-year-old male Asiatic lion at Venkateswara Zoo in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, after he entered its enclosure to take a selfie.
Prahlad Gujjar, a resident of Rajasthan’s Alwar district, ventured into the restricted area. The lion inside the enclosure attacked him, resulting in his death.
