New Delhi: Two people died and three others were injured as a massive rock came crashing down a hill and crushed two cars after a landslide in Nagaland on Tuesday. The incident took place in the evening at around 5 pm in Dimapur's Chumoukedima area.
The accident site known as "pakala pahar" is known for landslides and rockfalls, according to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

"Today, rockfall on the National Highway at around 5pm between Dimapur & Kohima caused serious damage including death to 2 persons & serious injury to 3 others. This place has always been known as “pakala pahar”; known for landslides & rockfalls," the chief minister tweeted.
Nagaland CM offered condolences to the families of the deceased and announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the next kin of the deceased.
The State Govt. is taking all necessary steps to provide emergency services, grant of ex-gratia for the deceased of Rs 4 lakh each and the necessary medical assistance and help to the injured.
