Assembly Election 2023: Exit Poll Predicts Comfortable Win For BJP In Tripura And Nagaland, Close Contest In Meghalaya

Election 2023: According to exit polls conducted by various pollsters, BJP is likely to win big in the northeast.

The exit polls on Monday have predicted that the BJP will significantly expand its footprint in the northeast by securing victories in Tripura and Nagaland and a larger share of seats in Meghalaya in the most recent round of assembly elections. There is a 60-seat Assembly in each state.

In the Tripura Assembly election, the BJP is expected to win 36-45 seats of the 60 seats, according to an exit poll conducted by India Today's Axis My India. The first states to go to the polls this year are Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland. Political pundits and the ruling and opposition parties are keeping a close eye on the results. Despite the fact that the three states won't have a new government until March 2.

With just 6 to 11 seats, the Left-Congress alliance may finish in a distant second place. There is a possibility that the Tipra Motha Party will win between nine and sixteen seats.

The BJP is getting more votes in both urban and rural areas, according to India Today's projected vote share. Additionally, the pollsters anticipate a growing number of Bengali voters supporting the BJP.

Exit polls have predicted that the BJP will easily win Tripura and bring its alliance government to power in Nagaland. Conrad Sangma's NPP (National People's Party) is likely to win the race for Meghalaya, making it a close race.

Two exit polls indicate that the BJP may win 35 seats, slightly more than the 31-seat majority required for the legislature.

The state's Left, which has ruled the state for more than 30 years, is only likely to win 12 seats; Congress, the Left's unexpected allies in this election, are unlikely to add anything to the total.

The twelve seats are likely to be won by Tipra Motha, the new party founded by former royal Pradyot Kishore Debbarma with Greater Tipraland as its primary goal.

Zee News-Matrize projects that the BJP will win 29-36 seats, while the Left Front will win 13-21 seats, which is slightly better.

Both Times Now and Zee News give the BJP 21-27 seats, while both agree that the Congress will get zero.

In Nagaland, The BJP has a lot more reason to celebrate in this state because India Today, Times Now, and Zee News gave it a big win.

Times Now projected between 39 and 49 seats for the BJP and zero for the Congress, with only four to eight seats for the Naga People's Front. In a similar vein, India Today projects 38-48 seats for the BJP and 38 seats for the NPF, while Zee News projects 35-43 seats for the BJP and 25 seats for the NPF. The Congress receives anywhere from one to two seats from Zee and India Today.

Meghalaya's Assembly appears to be at a standstill at this point, with no single party or alliance even close to a majority. The Congress isn't expected to win more than six seats, Zee News projects three to six, while Times Now projects between two and five. The BJP isn't expected to win more than 11 seats on its own; Zee News projects six to 11, while Times Now projects three to six.

On March 2, the three states' election results will be out.
