You Can Run, But Can't Hide: Punjab Police's Tweet After Amritpal Aide Papalpreet Singh's Arrest

"You can run, but you can't hide from the long arm of the law...Punjab Police arrested Papalpreet Singh, main associate of Amritpal Singh," the Punjab Police tweeted.

A day after Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh’s aide Papalpreet Singh was arrested in Amritsar, Punjab Police today sent out a message saying “You can run, but can’t hide.” "You can run, but you can't hide from the long arm of the law...Punjab Police arrested Papalpreet Singh, a main associate of Amritpal Singh," the Punjab Police tweeted. "We urge citizens to maintain peace & harmony in the region," it added. The radical preacher's aide, Papalpreet was flown to Dibrugarh central jail today, a day after his arrest.

The police convoy with Papalpreet reached the Dibrugarh Central Jail at around noon today. Following his arrest, the pro-Khalistani sympathiser was slapped with National Security Act.

Eight other close aides of Amritpal Singh, including his uncle Harjeet Singh, have been lodged at the high-security Dibrugarh Central Jail, after being slapped with the stringent National Security Act (NSA).

Papalpreet along with Amritpal Singh has been on the run since March 18 after the police launched a crackdown against Amritpal's Waris Punjab De outfit and its supporters. But the duo chose their paths after reaching Hoshiarpur.

He is believed to be the "right hand" and mentor of radical preacher Amritpal Sing who planned out things for him after the latter was declared a fugitive by the Punjab Police. He is also alleged to have been in contact with Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI.

As per ABP News sources, Papalpreet told his family "he was tired of being on the run and disclosed his location to his family members who then informed the police" adding he had decided to surrender if the police would not find him.

Several CCTV footage has emerged where the fugitive leader could be seen switching vehicles and his appearance to dodge the police net.
