Trump Fires At Least Three National Security Council Officials Over 'Loyalty Concerns': Report

US President Donald Trump has fired several National Security Council officials after Laura Loomer presented research to him in an Oval Office meeting. The Presidential Personnel Office has dismissed at least three senior NSC officials and several lower-ranking aides.

US President Donald Trump has moved to fire several National Security Council officials in the White House, reports AP, quoting people familiar with the matter. According to the report, Laura Loomer presented the research to Trump in an Oval Office meeting on Wednesday, making her case for the firings, the people said.

BBC's US partner, CBS News, reported that the US President has fired at least three officials at NSC, with more firings expected.

Vice President JD Vance, chief of staff Susie Wiles, national security adviser Mike Waltz, and Serio Gor, the director of the Presidential Personnel Office, were part of the key meeting, the people said. The report mentions that NSC spokesman Brian Hughes declined to comment on the meeting or the firings. He also insisted that the White House does not discuss personnel matters.

The report mentions that the Presidential Personnel Office has moved to dismiss at least three senior NSC officials and also several lower-ranking aides.

Loomer, who promoted 9/11 conspiracy theories, was frequent during Trump’s 2024 successful White House run. Recently, she has been vocal about some members of Trump’s national security team that she insists can’t be trusted.

“It was an honor to meet with President Trump and present him with my research findings,” Loomer said in a posting on X. “I will continue working hard to support his agenda, and I will continue reiterating the importance of and the necessity of STRONG VETTING for the sake of protecting the President of the United States of America, and our national security.”

The recent reported decision by Trump comes at a moment when the national security adviser, Mike Waltz, is fighting back criticism over using the publicly available encrypted Signal app to discuss the planning for the sensitive March 15 military operation targeting Houthi militants in Yemen.
