Tree planted by Trump and Macron in White House vanishes mysteriously? Here is the truth
Mystery around disappearance of the tree was finally cleared by the French ambassador to America Gerard Araud.
New Delhi: A week ago, when French president Emmanuel Macron and US President Donald Trump met in Washington, they had planted sapling in the ground of White House. However in a surprising twist, the plant had reportedly vanished from the White House triggering speculations.
The gesture of planting the tree was symbolic of US-French relations. As per the reports, the tree came from a northern French forest where 2,000 US marines died during the First World War.
The picture of them throwing soil on the roots with spades in their hands was seen by the world. US First Lady Melania Trump and French First lady Brigitte Macron were present as the two Presidents planted the tree.
However few days later, the jointly sapled tree was nowhere to be seen in the grounds of White House.
As per the reports, French ambassador to America cleared the airs around the plant by informing that the plant had been placed in quarantine.
“It is in quarantine which is mandatory for any living organism imported to the US. It will be replanted afterwards”, said Gerard Araud.
“The oak comes from the Belleau Wood in remembrance of WW1” he informed.
