PM Modi Holds Meeting With Elon Musk, Says 'Discussed Space, Mobility, Technology'

PM Modi said he discussed space, mobility, technology and innovation during the meeting with Elon Musk. The meeting comes shortly after the PM concluded a meeting with US NSA Michael Waltz.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Tesla CEO Elon Musk at Blair House in Washington DC. The meeting with Musk comes shortly after the prime minister concluded a meeting with US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz.

PM Modi said he discussed space, mobility, technology and innovation during meeting with Elon Musk. He also said that he talked about India's efforts towards reform and furthering ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance' with the Tesla CEO.

"Had a very good meeting with @elonmusk in Washington DC. We discussed various issues, including those he is passionate about such as space, mobility, technology and innovation. I talked about India’s efforts towards reform and furthering ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance'," PM Modi said in a post after concluding meeting with Musk.

The prime minister also discussed strengthening collaboration between India and the US on space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.

"Prime Minister and Mr. Musk discussed strengthening collaboration between Indian and US entities in innovation, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development. Their discussion also touched on opportunities to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship and good governance," a government statement said.

Musk, who heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was accompanies by three of his children. The Tesla CEO presented the prime minister with a special gift before the discussion.

In a video shared by the news agency ANI, Elon Musk was seen walking with his family, including his children to the Blair House, where PM Modi is staying.

According to the ANI report, Musk is likely to have brought up Starlink's plans for India in the meeting. But the government has favoured Musk's proposal of spectrum allocation through administrative means rather than auctioning, the report added.

Prime Minister Modi is in the US for a two-day visit, where he will hold a bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump. Modi is the fourth leader to meet Trump in the weeks since the January inauguration of the Republican President.

Within less than a month of the start of Trump’s second term in the White House, the Republican President has hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and Jordan's King Abdullah II.
