'First Brick Of Babri Mosque In Ayodhya...': Pakistani Senator's Controversial Statement Amid Tensions

Palwasha further claimed that Sikh soldiers would not take up arms against Pakistan in the event of an India-Pakistan conflict.

In a fresh provocative remark, Pakistani Senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan claimed that Pakistani soldiers would lay the "first brick of the new Babri mosque" in Ayodhya. A video of her controversial speech in Pakistan's Upper House has gone viral on social media amid tensions between the two countries after the Pahalgam terror attack.

"The first brick of the new Babri mosque in Ayodhya will be laid by Pakistan Army soldiers, and the first azaan will be given by Army Chief Asim Munir himself," Palwasha said on Tuesday, adding that "We are not wearing bangles."

Palwasha further claimed that Sikh soldiers would not take up arms against Pakistan in the event of an India-Pakistan conflict. "If they are threatening Pakistan, then let them know that the Sikh army is not ready to attack Pakistan because it’s the land of Guru Nanak for them," she said, citing the country's religious importance.

She also endorsed a statement by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who pledged to prevent the Indian government from launching any attack on Pakistan.

Provocative Rhetoric From Other Pakistani Leaders

Such provocative rhetoric from Pakistani leaders is not new. Recently, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari issued a sharp warning after India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty.

While addressing a public gathering, the former Foreign Minister accused India of unilaterally terminating the agreement and declared Pakistan as the true custodian of the Indus civilisation.

He accused India of scrapping the agreement and issued a threat stating, "The Indus is ours and will remain ours. Either our water will flow through it, or their (Indians) blood will."

Additionally, former Prime Minister Imran Khan posted on X, reaffirming that while Pakistan desires peace, it should not be mistaken for weakness.
"Pakistan has every capability to give a befitting reply to any Indian aggression, as the PTI government, fully supported by a united nation, did in 2019," he added.
