Pak NSC Chaired By Imran Khan Decides To Review Diplomatic Ties With India: Report

Pakistan’s federal minister Fawad Chaudhary also said that Pakistan should cut diplomatic ties with India.

New Delhi: The National Security Committee (NSC) being chaired by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday decided to review the diplomatic ties with India, days after India declared the state of Jammu and Kashmir as a Union Territory, ending its special status by scrapping Articles 35A and 370 of Constitution, Pakistani media reported. Pakistan’s Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhary was quoted as saying, “ I request the Foreign Minister, when India is not interested in talking to us then why is their envoy still here? We should cut diplomatic ties with them. What is the use of their envoy being here and our envoy being there?” by news agency ANI. Pakistan's Dunya News TV channel cited sources as saying that the NSC, in the second such session within a week, is deliberating sealing the Wagah border and also to end trade and cultural ties with New Delhi. The second session of the NSC is being attended by Pakistan's civil-military leadership to analyze situation in Kashmir. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan, addressing a joint session of the National Assembly, had said that Pulwama-like attacks can follow the revocation of the special status for Jammu and Kashmir, which can lead to a war between India and Pakistan. "I can already predict this will happen. They will attempt to place the blame on us again. They may strike us again, and we will strike back," the cricketer-turned-politician told his country's Parliament. (with inputs from agencies)
