Google Doodle today paid tribute to German sculptor, painter, designer and choreographer.

New Delhi: Oskar Schlemmer, the famous German sculptor, painter, designer and choreographer was paid tribute to, by Google on Tuesday. The twirling mechanical figure right in the centre of Google’s Doodle is a representation of the multi-skilled personality, made to commemorate his 130th birth anniversary. The search giant created a doodle which shows a globular mechanical figure standing in a dancing pose wearing metallic mask. Schlemmer’s work of “Triadisches Ballett" or Triadic Ballet where the performers were transformed into geometrical figurines is well known. Fascinated by architectural aspect of human body, he would capture every possible movement into his art works and labeled every performance as ‘artistic metaphysical mathematics’ -something he considered as the purest form of physical aesthetics. Schlemmer died on April 13, 1943 in Hitler ruled Germany.
