Netizens Ask Mark Zuckerberg To Appear Before Columbian Police As Probe Over Attack On President Takes Funny Turn
While the Colombian President reported a serious attack on his helicopter recently, a minor gaffe over the sketch of one of the attackers has brought in some unintentional humour to the probe.
New Delhi: In a case of an unintentionally funny post going viral, netizens are calling for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to appear before the Columbian police over the attack on the country's president.
Confused? Well, it had got to do with a post put up by the Columbian police wherein it sought help from citizens to help locate the perpetrators of an attack.
Recently, the Comubian National police took to Facebook and posted: "Help us locate them! These are the portraits spoken of the perpetrators of the attack on the helicopter carrying Mr. President Iván Duque and his entourage".
It also announced a reward of up to USD 3 million.
However, the matter took a slightly comedic turn as they posted two sketches of alleged perpetrators on Facebook. One of the sketches looked like a childish portrait of Mark Zuckerberg.
As expected, the sketch got a lot of attention with more than 66,000 reactions, and over 24,000 shares as a lot of Facebook users started tagging Zuckerberg in the comments while several of them put his photos and GIF reactions as well.
Attack On Colombian President
As for the original incident, recently, Colombian President Ivan Duque claimed that a helicopter, carrying him and several other officials, was struck by multiple bullets in the southern Catatumbo region.
The incident was reported on Friday while the President's helicopter was flying through the Catatumbo region toward the city of Cucuta, capital of Norte de Santander province.
"The presidential helicopter was the target of an attack," Duque said, adding that he was accompanied by Defense Minister Diego Molano, Interior Minister Daniel Palacios, and governor of Norte de Santander Silvano Serrano. No one was injured in the attack," the President wrote in a statement.
"The truth is that it is a cowardly attack, where the impact of the bullets can be seen on the presidential aircraft. Once again, we reiterate that as a government we are not going to falter for a single moment, a single day, in the fight against drug trafficking, against terrorism and organised crime," Duque added.
While the attack aimed at the president is indeed a serious matter, a minor gaffe over the sketch has brought in some unintentional humour to the probe for finding the perpetrators.
