Video Of Iranian Woman's Naked Protest Against Hijab Laws Goes Viral

A video of a naked woman protesting in Iran has gone viral. The motivation behind her actions is unclear, but reports suggest that she was protesting Iran's oppressive clothing laws for women.

A shocking video has surfaced on social media that captures a woman who appears to be naked while protesting in Iran. As per the details, the video is said to be from Iran's Mashhad city.

The footage shows the lady shouting at armed male officers as she stands on their squad car before deciding to sit on the windshield with dozens of cars passing by the busy street.

Iranian Journalist and activist Masih Alinejad, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) shared the video of the same. She wrote, "Iranian woman’s naked protest shakes the Police! This woman in Iran has completely stripped naked in front of security forces, climbing onto a police vehicle in protest. The footage shows armed security forces trying to prevent bystanders and cars from gathering at the scene. No official details have been released about the reason, location, or date of this act, but some users claim it happened in Mashhad."

A man claiming to be the woman's husband reportedly said the woman has now been taken into care, according to local media, as reported by The Sun. While the exact motivation behind her actions is unclear, reports on social media suggest that she was protesting Iran's increasingly oppressive clothing laws for women.

In January this year also, a woman at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport removed turban of a cleric and covered her own head after being confronted about not wearing a hijab.

In December, Iranian lawmakers passed a controversial 'chastity and hijab' law, imposing harsh penalties on women and girls who expose their hair, arms, or legs. However, after facing global condemnation, the bill was suspended. The proposed law included hefty fines and up to 15 years' imprisonment for repeat offenders.
