INS Tabar Participates In Maritime Partnership Exercise With Russian Navy 'Reinforcing Strong Bilateral Naval Ties'

INS Tabar visited St. Petersburg for Russia's Navy Day Parade, showcasing strong India-Russia maritime ties. The ship conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise with the Russian Navy.

The Indian Navy’s frontline frigate, INS Tabar, arrived in St. Petersburg on July 25 for a four-day visit to partake in the 328th Russian Navy Day Parade celebrations. This visit underscores the warm bilateral relations and maritime cooperation between India and Russia, which span a multitude of fields. The presence of INS Tabar aimed to further cement this longstanding friendship and explore new avenues to bolster the relationship between the two nations.

Upon its departure from St. Petersburg, INS Tabar successfully conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with the Russian Navy Ship Soobrazitelny on July 30. This exercise marks a significant milestone in maritime cooperation between India and Russia, reinforcing the commitment of both nations to maintaining peace, stability, and security in the region, the Navy stated.

Maritime Partnership Exercise With Russian Navy Reinforces Strong Bilateral Naval Ties: Indian Navy

The MPX included a series of complex naval manoeuvres, such as communication drills, Search & Rescue tactics, and Replenishment at Sea serials. Both navies demonstrated high levels of professionalism and interoperability, it informed. 

A statement from the Indian Navy highlighted, “The Indian Navy remains committed to fostering partnerships with navies across the world. The MPX with the Russian Navy reinforces the strong bilateral naval ties, further strengthening our resolve and commitment towards ensuring enhanced cooperation in the maritime domain.”
