Trump Takes Credit For India-Pakistan Ceasefire, Announces More Trade With Both Nations: 'Very Proud'
Trump also said he will work with India and Pakistan to find a solution to the Kashmir issue.

US President Donald Trump lauded India and Pakistan for agreeing to the ceasefire after both countries were on the brink of a full-scale war following four days of cross-border strikes.
Trump, who was the first one to break the news about the ceasefire, rushed to take the credit for the surprise truce. India has, however, said that the agreement was reached by the two countries through direct dialogue.
"I am very proud of the strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership of India and Pakistan for having the strength, wisdom, and fortitude to fully know and understand that it was time to stop the current aggression that could lead to the death and destruction of so many, and so much," Trump said on Truth Social.
On Saturday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri addressed a press briefing saying the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan called the DGMO of India and a ceasefire was agreed by the two sides.
Meanwhile, Trump and US State Secretary highlighted that India and Pakistan agreed for the ceasefire in a talks mediated by Washington.
The US President retierated the same in his Truth Social post: "I am proud that the USA was able to help you arrive at this historic and heroic decision."
'More Trade, Kashmir Solution'
Trump further announced that he will increase trade with both countries. Notably, the US slapped a 26 per cent tariffs on imports from India and 29 per cent from Pakistan.
"While not even discussed, I am going to increase trade, substantially, with both of these great Nations," Trump said in his post.
He also said that he will work with both the countries to arrive at a solution to the Kashmir issue, which he said was pending for "thousand years."
"Additionally, I will work with you both to see if, after a "thousand years," a solution can be arrived at concerning Kashmir. God Bless the leadership of India and Pakistan on a job well done!!!" he added.
