Vaccine Passports-Soon To Be 'The New Normal'

As the countries are rolling out their vaccination drive to help people curb the ongoing situation of Covid 19 and the governments across the world are deciding to launch vaccine passports

The world has changed after the Coronavirus pandemic hit the country, with masks and sanitisers making space in our daily necessities, now traveling will also witness a significant change. As people around the world are preparing for the Coronavirus vaccine, now the travelers will have to carry one more essential item which is -'The Vaccine Passport'.

Governments around the globe are planning to introduce Corona passport. Sweden on Thursday announced that work was underway to offer a digital 'vaccine passport' to all those who get a Covid-19 vaccine in the country. This vaccine passport will confirm whether you have taken the Covid vaccine shot or not and if yes then when.

What is a Vaccine passport and where will it be used?

A vaccine passport is an e-certificate that stores and records jabs and COVID-19 test status. It can be kept in a smartphone app or in other digital formats. Its contents can be flashed at security check points when people travel across borders.

Denmark’s government said on Wednesday that in the next three to four months, it will roll out a digital passport that will allow citizens to show they have been vaccinated.

According to a report by NYT, in a few weeks, Etihad Airways and Emirates will start using a digital travel pass, developed by the International Air Transport Association, to help passengers manage their travel plans and provide airlines and governments documentation that they have been vaccinated or tested for Covid-19.

The certificate or the passport will be used to ensure that the Coronavirus vaccine do not spread again and everybody is safe.

The World Health Organisation last year said, it is working on an e-vaccination certificate, a “smart yellow card” or a digital version of the yellow vaccine booklets used in many countries, Reuters had reported.

It won't be wrong to say that every country is looking forward to keep their citizens safe and protected the 'Vaccine Passport' will soon be a reality in our country, though the government has not confirmed anything offcialy.
